ESP Supports
Army Watercraft Systems
May 2011
As one of the primary service providers to Army Watercraft Systems (AWS), ESP deploys to foreign locations to support ongoing vessel requirements. This support takes place on one of five different classes of over 70 vessels ranging from 273 feet in length to 60 feet in length located in multiple locations around the world.
The primary mission of ESP in support of AWS is to resolve faults, best described as hardware and software defects, aboard vessels pertaining to the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) suite. The main categories of a suite are the navigation, communication, electrical, and weather systems. There are 10 locations in which vessels can dock, but they don’t always have faults in their home ports. There are over 60 systems onboard vessels that an ESP Field Service Representative is responsible for repairing.
Our Field Service Representatives have boarded every vessel and been to every location. In the past 36 months, our team has resolved almost 900 faults which is a great accomplishment.
